Pairing the right English proficiency test — IELTS, PTE, TOEFL or Duolingo — with an accurate documents checklist is one of the biggest factors in a smooth Canada application.
Academic Requirements
Transcripts, degree certificates, and academic references matching your target program level at a Canadian designated learning institution (DLI).

An accepted English test score — IELTS, PTE, TOEFL, Duolingo, LanguageCert or Oxford ELLT — depending on your target institution's requirements and your prior education.
Study Permit Documents
- Letter of acceptance from a designated learning institution (DLI)
- Completed study permit application through IRCC
- Valid passport & passport photos
- Biometrics appointment at a VFS Global centre
Financial Evidence
Proof of funds to cover tuition and living costs — a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) is one accepted option under the regular study permit stream — plus documentation showing the source of funds. We confirm the exact current threshold for your case on WhatsApp.
Intake Windows
Most Canadian institutions run Fall (September), Winter (January) and Summer (May) intakes, with application portals typically opening several months in advance. We'll help you plan backwards from your target start date.
Post-Arrival Prep
After arrival, students typically apply for a Social Insurance Number (SIN) and a provincial health card — we help you prepare this paperwork in advance so nothing is missing on arrival.
Tuition, Scholarships & Funding for Canada Study
Canadian universities and colleges offer a range of funding routes, from institution-specific entrance scholarships to broader financing options for self-funded study. Our study abroad and consultation team helps you identify real options that genuinely fit your academic profile — no invented figures, just options matched to you and confirmed on WhatsApp.
University & College Entrance Scholarships
Many Canadian institutions offer merit-based entrance scholarships and bursaries for high-performing international applicants, awarded automatically or through separate application.
Faculty & Program-Specific Awards
Individual faculties and graduate programs sometimes offer their own scholarships, teaching or research assistantships, particularly at the Master's and PhD level.

Canada Study Visa FAQs
Can I study in Canada without IELTS?
Yes — many Canadian institutions accept alternatives such as PTE, TOEFL, Duolingo, LanguageCert, Oxford ELLT, or evidence of prior education in English, depending on the institution. We'll confirm what your target university or college accepts.
Is the Student Direct Stream (SDS) still available?
No — the Student Direct Stream ended on November 8, 2024. All study permit applicants, including Pakistani students, now apply through the regular study permit stream, which still accepts a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) as one option for showing proof of funds.
Can I work in Canada after I graduate?
Graduates of eligible programs at designated learning institutions may apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), an open work permit for gaining Canadian work experience. Current PGWP rules include language-proficiency requirements and, for some shorter or college programs, field-of-study conditions — we confirm your eligibility based on your specific program.
How much does it cost to study in Canada?
Costs vary widely by province, city, and institution — university tuition is generally higher than college tuition, and living costs differ significantly between cities like Toronto or Vancouver versus smaller towns. We confirm current, verified figures for your specific program on WhatsApp.
